Q:  How do we get started?

A:  Call me for a quote on your room or rooms.  Let me know your ideas for your room(s) and space.  I may decide to provide an estimate based on e-mail photos and room dimensions. In-home consultations are available when my schedule allows.

Q:  What's the next step?

A:  During the optional in-home consultation I will take a few digital photos of your room(s).  We will have the opportunity to talk about ideas and specific requests for the wall finish or mural.  I will review the photos and send you an estimate via e-mail or fax.  We can also begin with the budget, and I will make suggestions for the wall finish or mural based on how much you would like to spend for the project.

Q:  Are supplies included?

A:  Yes, costs for supplies will be included in the estimate you receive for all faux finishes.  The cost for the artist paints are included for murals.  If you want a different color on the walls in the room as a base coat before I begin the mural artwork, I usually recommend to the homeowner to go ahead and paint the room before-hand.

Q:  What are your fees?

A:  Fees vary depending on the type of work necessary.

Mural work is $70 per hour, and we will talk about how much wall space I will be able to cover within a certain timeframe during our in-home consultation, e-mails, and/or telephone conversation.

Artistic finishes and faux painting designs fees are $400 per day.  A typical size bedroom or dining room with 9' to 10' ceilings can be completed in 2-3 days.  Rooms with higher ceilings, intricate architecture, and/or more than
150 room SF will generally take 3-4 days to complete.

Cabinet glazing and antiquing is $500 per day, and an average kitchen can take from 3-7 days depending on the amount of cabinets to be glazed.  This does not include the base paint. Base painting on kitchen or bathroom cabinets is a separate job all-together, and will usually be done by another contract painter.  A painting crew works a lot faster and more efficiently than I, therefore it is usually more cost effective to have the cabinets "ready to go" when I get there to apply the antique glazing.  I will need to determine the specific paint to be used as the base coat for the antique glazing based on existing paint, if any, and surface texture.  All existing cabinetry may not be easily transformed.  I will let you know how easily it can be done, and we will make sure it is the best option for your cabinets.  * It is a great alternative to replacing your cabinetry which can be tens of thousands $$$$!

Q:  How long will it take?

A:  Faux painting a room can take 1-4 days depending on size.  Murals can take one day or several depending on exactly how much wall space we are going to cover and level of detail in the design of the work.

Q:  How far in advance do we need to schedule?

A:  I will do my best to schedule your job to accomodate your schedules or deadlines.  It is a good idea to contact me about 4 to 6 weeks before you want the work completed.  I will begin and quickly finish the job in a timely manner.
